SINGIN' THE BLUES AT REDBONES
BBQ JOINT SETS THE TONE FOR BOSTON BLUES FESTIVAL

Davis Square, Somerville, MA - Redbones hosts a benefit kick off party for the Boston Blues Festival (BBF) on Wednesday, September 22 with dinner at 8:00 PM and music starting at 9:00 PM. The $25.00 fee includes a Redbones BBQ dinner and a special evening of live accoustic blues and folk music by Bill McQuaid, www.billmcquaid.net, and Paul Geremia. In addition, attendees will receive a 2004 BBF button (a $10.00 value good for discounts on goods and services at participating venues throughout Boston Blues Week), door prizes, and the opportunity to enter a 50/50 raffle to benefit the Blues Trust . The fee is $10.00 to enter after dinner, if space is available. Call 617.628.2200 to reserve a space; for more details about the party, the BBF and Boston Blues Week visit www.bluestrust.com.

BBQ and blues are a classic duo brought together for the evening at Redbones by owners Caryn Whitney and Robert Gregory along with Boston Blues Festival organizer Greg Sarni. "Of course, we think blues and BBQ are meant to be enjoyed together," says Whitney, "and we are happy to have the opportunity to support Greg and the Blues Trust by donating food and the room for the BBF kick off." The event also brings the rib joint back to its "bones" - live blues were a staple of Underbones, the downstairs bar/diningroom, in the early years.

About Blues Trust Productions and the Boston Blues Festival Blues Trust Productions, a non-profit public charity, was established by WBRS (Brandeis University) Disc Jocky Greg Sarni in 1996. The Trust produces the free BBF at the Hatch Shell every year in conjunctiion with Boston Blues Week. "Long time support from people like Caryn and Robert have kept the Festival going for nine years," says Sarni. "The festival is important because it means exposure for new, young talent who are keeping the blues alive and, through the sale of buttons, it raises money to help older musicians in need."
