AUTHOR JAY ATKINSON CHOOSES REDBONES for
CITY IN AMBER BOOK RELEASE PARTY
Somerville, MA -- "If it ain't broke, why fix it?" says local author Jay Atkinson about the upcoming book release party at Redbones for his new novel, City in Amber. This is the second release party Atkinson has had at Redbones, the first was for his highly acclaimed Legends of Winter Hill. The party on Tuesday, October 16 starts at 7:30 pm; it is free and open to the public. Complimentary appetizers will be served, drinks are a la carte.
"Writers are superstitious, like athletes, and the release party at Redbones for my last book was a success, attracting politicians, firemen, cops, rugby players, college professors, doctors, lawyers - you name it - so I chose to have this release party at Redbones too," says author Atkinson adding, "if it ain't broke, why fix it?" Atkinson will make a few remarks at the event, answer questions and autograph copies of City in Amber which will be for sale. (Visit www.cityinamber.com for book information.) In addition there will be performances by Razing Cain, aka The World's Toughest Boy Band, and the Thaddeus Hogarth Band.
Co-hosting the party with Redbones is Haley Booksellers which specializes in author events and book promotion. The web site www.haleybooksellers.com says, "We take the traditional author reading and book signing out of the cluttered aisles of the bookstore and directly to the readers." Redbones offers a perfect alternative venue and will be packed with readers on October 16th. In June, Redbones and Haley Booksellers collaborated on the launch party for Somerville author Stephanie Gayle's debut novel, My Summer of Southern Discomfort.
