BRUNCH AND A BOOK SIGNING
BECKON FANS OF REDBONES IN JUNE
Davis Square, Somerville, MA -- Popular as a destination for authentic Southern barbecue, Redbones announces the addition of Southern brunch to its menu line up starting Father's Day, Sunday, June 18. Brunch will be served every Sunday from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm when the regular menu becomes available.
Redbones Brunch
"A Southern breakfast without biscuits is like a car without wheels," writes Charlotte Lyons in Ebony Magazine (11/91). At its new brunch, Redbones will provide the wheels and fuel - such as traditional grits, gravy, and Texas Scramble - eggs with peppers, onions and more - along with the restaurant's already available chicken fried steak, barbecue hash, and other crossover items from the regular menu. To accompany brunch, Redbones recommends Bloody Marys and Mojitos. Redbones versions include a Bloody Maria, the classic bloody Mary with tequila replacing vodka, and, for heat lovers, a Scary Mary made with a habanero pepper blend; also a traditional Mojito, a Pineapple version and a Raspberry Mojito made with fresh raspberries and Grand Marnier.
Redbones Book Signing
Redbones never had a bead on building a literary following but being mentioned in two recent non fiction works by local authors has changed that. On Monday, June 12, Andy Crouch (www.beerscribe.com) will be at Redbones signing his new book, The Good Beer Guide to New England in which Redbones is heralded as one of 11 Great New England Beer Bars. Starting at 8:00 pm in Underbones, Redbones downstairs bar, Andy will be selling and signing copies of his book, Redbones will provide complimentary appetizers and, of course, there will be great beers on tap and in bottles to purchase.
For those who missed it in March, Jay Atkinson, signed copies of his book Legends of Winter Hill which includes a chapter on Redbones.
Redbones, at 55 Chester Street, Davis Square, Somerville, is open 7 days serving lunch, dinner, late night fare and, starting June 18, Sunday brunch from 11:30 am. In addition to eating in, Redbones fans can get take out, delivery and arrange for catered events. Information at 617.628.2200
