THE HEART AND SOUL OF SOUTHERN FOOD
ON REDBONES SPECIAL MENUS IN FEBRUARY

DAVIS SQUARE, SOMERVILLE, MA -- Redbones creates special menus for two traditional February celebrations this year - Valentine's Day and Mardi Gras. These much loved occasions fall on alternate Tuesdays, February 14 and February 28, and Redbones take on each goes to the heart of Southern fare. Reservations are required for the Valentine's Day Dinner and may be made by calling 617.628.2200. Reservations are not necessary for Mardi Gras.

Redbones embraces fried food on Valentine's Day

2 - 4 - 6 - 8 - Say you haven't got a date
1 - 5 - 7 - 9 - Come and be our Valentine

Long a popular staple at state fairs, on the shore and at diners, fried food has a one night stand at Redbones this Valentine's Day. "We're removing any stigma which could be associated with either the food or the day," says Manager Chris Bol. "The whole idea is to come with a date or group, have fun and enjoy some downright great - if not cardiologist approved - fried food!"

The menu is for hearty eaters and includes fried onion strings, fried pickles & jalapeños, cat fingers and Buffalo shrimp for appetizers. Among the entrées are fried chicken and fried pork chops served with French fries and, to cleanse the palate, cole slaw. Highlights for many will be the fried snickers, twinkies and other classics which end the meal. The buffet comes with a choice of diet soda, canned beer or, in honor of Valentine's Day, champagne.

The Dinner takes place downstairs in Underbones; it begins at 7:00 pm and is $30.00 per person. For reservations call 617.628.2200. The upstairs dining room will be opened for regular business.

Redbones adds jazz to its menu with a traditional Louisiana Crawfish Boil on Mardi Gras

Mardi Gras, or Fat Tuesday, ends the week of revelry before Lent and is associated with good times, plentiful food and, of course, New Orleans. With the crawfish boil, Redbones pays homage to the Louisiana city which has given so much to the culinary fabric of America.

Crawfish Boils typically take place from February to June when this native Louisiana seafood is in season. Messy affairs, the boil is prepared in a huge water filled pot with a spicy mix of seasonings, crawfish, potato and corn and ultimately spilled out on table tops covered with newspaper. Redbones version will pack the flavor punch with only some of the mess and diners will still have to peal their own crawfish! The Boil can be ordered individually or for a group; it will be available throughout the restaurant along with Jambalaya, other Southern specials and the regular menu. For beverages, there will be signature Louisiana cocktails and beers.

Redbones now accepts Mastercard, VISA and American Express.

The restaurant, at 55 Chester Street, Somerville, is open 7 days for lunch, dinner and late night dining. For information call 617.628.2200.
